The Fiji Market, housed on ground floor of the Tappoo Nadi department store complex, has a carefully chosen range of high quality products from the islands
The company said this new concept was aimed at both locals and tourist that gave visitors option to help them recreate the feel of luxurious island living in their own homes and offices.
Tappoo Group executive director Harish Tappoo said the company wanted to create a concept that would retail on its head and showcase the unique talent of Fiji.
“It’s mainly Fiji products and designs but it also has collections from other Pacific Island countries including the Solomon and PNG,” said Mr. Tappoo.
He said work on the Nadi outfitting started three months ago, with the soft launch of Fiji Market held during the Bula Fiji Tourism exchange last Thursday. “It was and instant hit with hoteliers, overseas holiday wholesalers and travel agents, some of whom took to the shop floor to dance. The night’s fun even ended up in the pages of “Travel Daily”- an international tourism newsletter based in Australia,”said Mr. Tappoo.
He said the concept was well received as a way that local retail industry could help boost the image of Fiji as a destination
He said the company had also rolled out the Fiji Market concept in its Sigatoka department store, including live music and the coffee shop.
