A NEW wholly-owned subsidiary company of the Tappoo Group will open a showroom in Nakasi soon with plans to import and distribute one of India’s leading utility vehicles in Fiji.

In a statement on Friday, Tappoo Group CEO Madhu Tappoo said the company, CarCity, would distribute the Mahindra range of vehicles.

“We are absolutely delighted to bring in Mahindra’s new range of world class vehicles to Fiji,” Mr Tappoo said.

“The vehicles are already a big hit in India, South Africa and many other countries including Australia.

“We are glad the Fiji consumers will now be able to see for themselves its rugged built and luxury features at very affordable prices.”

He said the Mahindra Group was a $US16.2billion ($F30.13b) company that employed 155,000 people worldwide.

Hailed as one of the world’s top 50 most innovative companies, Mr Tappoo said the Mahindra Group was on Forbes Global 2000 listing.

“They are the world’s number one maker of tractors, and India’s leading utility vehicle makers. They are a diversified company that is involved in many fields, from information technology, aerospace and car manufacturing,” he said.

Mr Tappoo said all Mahindra vehicles would be backed in Fiji by a three-year warranty up to 100,000 kilometers.
