Tappoo has harnessed the distribution rights to one of the best beer makers in New Zealand’s DB Breweries. DB Breweries Montheit beer was launched at Suva’s Holiday Inn on Thursday night.

The New Zealand based company launched a five line-up of DB beers including DB Bitter, DB Draught, Tui, Montheit, Black, Golden an Original and Export Gold. DB Breweries Business Development Manager, Andy Danniels said the beers were good brands and were proud to be able to bring them over to Fiji to be distributed by Tappoo.

With a history that goes back to 1929, DB Breweries presently has four breweries in New Zealand: Auckland, Timaru, Mangatainoka and Greymouth. Mr Danniels said the brewery celebrated its 75th year of operation in New Zealand earlier this year and did so by shouting everyone in NZ.

“What we did, we provided coupons in every daily newspaper in NZ that entitled every citizen to a free DB beer,” he said. He said the brewery was quite large in NZ with 500 plus employees generating more than $200 million in revenue annually for NZ.

Tappoo will distribute this lineup of DB beers with the full range of DB beers made available to Fiji drinkers. DB also has the famous Heineken under its brand portfolio.

“By getting DB beers into Fiji, we are offering Fiji beer drinkers a chance at some of the best beers in the world,” says Tappoo executive director Kaushal Tappoo.
