Serevi and Tappoo directors donated food items, presents and lunch to the boys at the newly opened Arya Baal Ashram in Samabula at 10 am.
An hour later, Serevi was received with rousing cheers by the children of St Christopher’s Home in Nakasi.
Accompanied by directors Mahendra and Kamlesh Tappoo, Serevi spent several hours with the children, talking to them, giving out presents and signing autographs and serving them lunch.
The children in turn put on a great show for the maestro, singing hymns and doing action songs.
“They were not at all shy,” said Serevi, who mingled with the children, kissing them and getting to know them.In his speech, Serevi pointed out why he was proud to be part of the event.”
Other companies hold cocktails, parties here and there, but Tappoo chose to come to make the children
happy and I am glad I am part of this,” the sevens wizard said.
He said he was proud to be part of a company that showed its concern for society in such tangible ways.
“The response from the kids was fantastic,” Mahendra Tappoo said.
