Finance Officer – General Ledger

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure monthly journal entries are recorded with relation to provisions, accruals, prepayment and other entries to support month end period closure.
  • Ensure intercompany charges are recorded on a timely basis.
  • Perform reconciliations for the intercompany transactions and outstanding balances.
  • Monitor and review balance sheet accounts periodically to ensure aged items are cleared timely.
  • Perform variance analysis and provide commentary on key variances noted at monthly reporting.
  • Prepare notes to the monthly financial statements and accompanying schedules, where required.
  • Ensure accounting for transactions in line with the accounting standards and principles.
  • Preparation of schedules and providing supporting information for the statutory audit.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly reports.
  • Liaising with multiple internal stakeholders to assist with account analysis at the point of raising purchase orders.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting/Finance/Management or Passed Year 13 in Accounting.
  • 1+ years of experience in Finance/ Accounting.
  • Fluency in Microsoft applications.
  • Good communication & interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently in teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced business environment.
